- Live Out Housekeeper Cook required working for a busy down to earth family. Parents full time at work with overseas travel from time to time, children
G 18, B 16 B 11 years of age. 3 dogs House spec: 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, detached house with small
Terraced front and back garden .
Looking for a bright, down to earth, competent, experienced housekeeper who can take initiative, be self-motivated
with a healthy work ethic to come and help run the house and take care of all the family shopping ,
cooking and helping with the children . You need to be happy to follow direction, work in a team and be a good
communicator as well as knowing the schedule and being able to manage and work through your duties
autonomously and with flexibility.
There is also a full-time 2nd house keeper Mon - Fri 8 am - 5 pm who is responsible to do cleaning and laundry and
who works as part of a team to make sure the running of the house is done well.
OVERALL DUTIES:-- Laundry to include bed linen, clothing, delicate items and hand washing. Making and presenting beds beautifully.
- Ironing and taking care of all family’s clothes, hand washing cashmeres and silks and maintains laundry with real care.
- Preparation and cooking of family meals.
- Feeding and walking the dogs
- Cleaning to a high standard with attention to detail: to include hoovering, dusting, washing all floors, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchen, utility room, inside windows, cleaning of marble, brass and fine furniture.
- Picking up the youngest child from school. Dropping off / collecting from friends / activities.
- Being able to follow and implement the parents’ requests for screen time for 11yr old son. Setting boundaries and making his schedule fun and enjoyable.
- Feed and water plants inside the house and outside.
- Shopping for food locally
- Sweep, wash down and keep tidy back and front-of-house
- Dry cleaning drop-off and collection
- Ensuring all areas of the house are kept tidy, organized and maintained
- Answering the door and phone, taking messages, managing deliveries
- Wardrobe maintenance
- Keeping fridge clean and discarding out-of-date items, presenting food / flowers nicely in kitchen each day.
- Occasional Support when the family are entertaining
- Responsibility for all grocery shopping - to include online weekly supermarket / Amazon shop and daily top ups
- Taking dogs to vets and giving medication when necessary
- Maintaining all stock control of household sundries
- Responsibility for maintaining and organising household rubbish with its collections for general waist / recycling and garden waste.
- Meeting of tradesmen and contractors for the house e.g. security alarm, plumbers, gardeners etc with good clear communication to and forth family and office.
- Informing family of any necessary concerns to do with any systems or required household maintenance, carrying out any other tasks that the employer may reasonably ask
- Liaison with the family PA / office to ensure smooth running of the household and maintenance.
- Staying over from time to time to winter babysit/ house / dog sit
Working Day/Hours: Monday to Friday, 10am to 7pm (9am to 7pm during school holidays).
Salary: £50K to £55K depending on experience.
