Our client is seeking a full time, dedicated, self-starting housekeeper.,Monday to Friday, with possibly some weekend housesitting with notice in advance. One other housekeeper employed.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, pay careful attention to detail and have a positive, proactive and can-do attitude. The role encompasses a variety of tasks, which change seasonally, to ensure the smooth running of the household.
Candidates should have knowledge of specific and appropriate cleaning products and methods. Experience in washing delicate fabrics with sensitivity and care is required. Keeping high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the home is essential.
Cooking basic home style meals will also be part of the role and ensuring that fresh produce and products are kept continually in stock.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well, both in a wider team and alongside another housekeeper are required with a flexible disposition.
The duties include:
- Answering the house doorbell – encompassing first level security check (letting only true deliveries and guests through the gates), meeting visitors at the correct door (service or main entrance), receiving packages.
- Shopping – at local supermarkets and delicatessens, online food shop – ordering, receiving and storing items in the correct places, restocking household cleaning products.
- Fridge management – cleaning, organising, checking expiration dates and restocking with fresh products.
- Preparing meals – late breakfast, simple lunch and early dinner as required - home cooking style.
- Maintaining the house entrance - cleaning the outside porch and terrace areas
- Kitchen cleaning – oven, stove tops, counters, hoovering/ sweeping.
- Bathroom cleaning – toilets, sinks, restocking toilet roll, soaps etc.
- Lightbulb changing – including of delicate antique fixtures
- Laundry – clothes washing and ironing including delicate fabrics
- Boot room maintenance
- During school holidays tasks have a slightly different focus. This will include deep cleaning of the kitchen, utensils, pans, oven, cupboards and bathrooms. All appliances will be checked for functionality, and the silver will be cleaned.
Working Days/Hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm
Salary: £50K to £55K gross, depending on experience.
