- Description
- Live In Housekeeper Cook required for country residence. An experienced, organised, friendly professional who can find solutions to problems and ensure the smooth running of the house and domestic life of the employer and family. Must be hands-on and willing to roll up their sleeves whilst also being happy to work within a team.
Duties:- Managing all aspects of the daily running, cleaning and maintenance of main house, cottage and second smaller house
- Ensuring all daily housekeeping duties are performed to an exceptionally high standard, with deep cleans organised on a regular basis.
- Ensuring the house is welcoming when family members arrive.
- Taking care of the laundry, dry cleaning, and wardrobe management.
- Co-ordination and management of the casual staff, ensuring cover at all times in the case of guest weekends, shoots, holidays, and illness. Ensuring the security of the properties each evening.
- In winter, closing shutters, lighting fires.
- Cooking duties to include light lunches, evening meals, guest weekends when the part-time cook is not on duty and the family are in residenc
- Dealing with paying of all invoices as necessary from suppliers/contractors.
- Keeping a track and checking of the utility accounts on a regular basis.
- Ordering of food
- Manage household and petty cash accounts
- Keep files in good order
- Keep up to date with logistics
- Updating the maintenance schedule on a regular basis and ensuring it is adhered to. Driving licence essential
- Shoots and Guest Weekends:
- Ensuring the smooth running of the weekend.
- Help to arrange logistics for guest weekends and shoots along with the chef/cook and recruit extra staff if needed
- Welcome guests on arrival
- Holiday cover for the Gardener/Cook, with the care and walking of the dog.
Working Days/ Hours: 5-day 40 hour week (Tues/Wed off) with time off in lieu for any overtime
Car provided: Yes, for work purposes
Accommodation: Lovely private cottage on site (sorry, no pets please)
Salary £37k to £40K gross per annum
