- Description
- Live In Estate Manager required for Georgian property in the countryside south of Stowmarket. The Principals are a semi-retired couple in their 60’s. The small estate comprises an 8 bedroom Georgian ex-rectory with five detached cottages for guests, along with swimming pool, tennis court, pool house and equestrian facilities set in 50 acres of paddocks, lawns and formal gardens. There are gardeners also employed. The house is located on the edge of a small village in a rural setting. All the accommodation has recently been redecorated/refurbished. This is a full time residence for the principals and guests stay on average once a month (in normal times). For this role you will need to have previous experience working for a private estate, both in a managerial and hands on capacity with a solid knowledge of general house and estate maintenance. Ideally a candidate who has been hands on earlier in their career. You will be responsible for staff supervision and be happy to join an existing team. You must be willing also to be hands on when other members of staff are not on duty and to drive the principals if required. You will be responsible for the household accounts, overseeing and leasing with contractors, overseeing security of the estate and act as first responder to alarms when you are on duty. You will monitor general estate supplies and re-order when required. You must have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar position, excellent spoken and written English, non-smoker and a clean driving licence. A current DBS is also required
Working Days/Hours of Work: 5 days a week on a rota with existing staff members to cover two weekends a month.
Salary: £45K gross per annum
Accommodation: Separate private 2 bed furnished accommodation. Partners welcome. Sorry no pets or dependants.
