Live In Housekeeper required for a Couple residing on a beautiful 4000 acre Estate near to St Andrews.
This is a great opportunity for a candidate who enjoys living in the countryside and wants to be part of a close-knit rural community.
This is an informal, friendly household and they are looking for an experienced housekeeper who can manage their own time and can run the house without supervision and enjoy working alongside other staff members. There is a part time housekeeper already employed.
The main duties will be:
- Daily, weekly, monthly and annual cleaning activities
- Oversee regular maintenance tasks (e.g. turning mattresses, descaling equipment, pest control, servicing equipment, window cleaning, changing light bulbs etc)
- Household laundry: washing, ironing, starching etc
- Lay and restock fires around the house
- Maintain a stock of cleaning equipment, household and food supplies, carrying out online and offline shopping when necessary
- Manage recycling
- Feed cats and look after houseplants
- Provide occasional food preparation for the family and guests
- Carry out errands and make and receive deliveries and pick-ups as and when required
- Liaise closely with the estate office and gardening team as appropriate when managing the household
- Take responsibility for the security of the house (alarms, shutters, locks)
- Pick and use garden produce (mostly soft fruits) appropriately
- Prepare flower displays for the house, liaising with gardener as required
- Provide regular baking: cakes and biscuits (monthly); cakes and biscuits for charity events and fruit crumbles for fundraiser (annually)
- Carry out any other household tasks as requested.
For this role you will need good baking skills and also be able to produce simply family dishes when there are guests.
A full, clean driving licence.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to get on well with a wide range of people
Be keen, enthusiastic, energetic and committed, with a positive, cheerful, flexible attitude.
Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm
Accommodation: 2 bedroom flat with separate entrance.
Salary: £40K gross per annum
Start Date: As soon as right candidate is found.
