Live In or Live Out Head Housekeeper
A highly professional and experienced head housekeeper is required for a family of three, with two university-age children who visit, based in a large property in Holland Park, London. The property has 4 floors, 4 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, drawing room, family room as well as a gym and spa thus a highly energetic and self-motivated candidate is essential for this role.
Your will need to be reliable, flexible, trustworthy, and highly organised with a minimum of 5 years previous experience working in formal private residences and a minimum of 3 years working in one residence. Attention to detail, working on own initiative and a very good team player. Highest standards of cleaning and hygiene. Excellent laundry skills. Fluent English. Pet friendly essential.
Main Duties:
- Cleaning and tidying the interior of the entire home to a superior level of cleanliness and hygiene
- Assisting with food prep and cleaning, tidying and organising the kitchen, butler’s pantry and wine room including appliances and equipment after meals
- Making grocery shopping list weekly, keeping the refrigerator, pantry and cupboards clean and discarding out-of-date items
- Making beds, changing bed linens and bath towels
- Collecting, washing, ironing and returning laundry to the appropriate place
- Managing wardrobes
- Mending clothes
- Arranging dry-cleaning
- Answering door and phone
- Managing deliveries
- Running errands
- Feeding pets when needed
- Watering household plants and flower arranging
It is essential that you are pet friendly as the family have four dogs (one large size and 3 small) and you will be required to assist with pet care. There is a daily dog walker on staff.
Previous formal private residence experience is essential along with longevity in previous roles.
Working Days/Hours: 5-day working week
Monday to Friday 8.30 to 5.30pm with a break during the day. Occasional Saturday working will be required, no more than once per month.
Salary £55k Gross based on experience.
