Description
Live Out House Manager/Butler required for formal home.
Duties and Responsibilities will be:
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the household and servicing of principals and guests (supervising others but also providing service)
  • Engaging and overseeing outside contractors, service providers and suppliers
  • Overseeing and managing household staff including hiring, firing, payroll management and performance reviews
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the household of a senior individual and his family
  • Ensuring that the property is maintained to the highest possible standards at all times
  • Identifying and ensuring that any maintenance issues are dealt with; monitoring quality and deadlines for works done and service provided
  • Daily visual checking of both inside & outside the house including all technical rooms & equipment (IT, pool room, lighting, room temperatures, humidity etc)
  • Responding to urgent maintenance calls
  • Ensuring regular emergency equipment checks including fire and intruder alarms, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers are completed
  • Coordinating all related private household matters
  • Staff training and development
  • Organising dinner parties and other social and family events
  • Caring for household’s guests and visitors
  • Annual performance audit of contractors
  • Staff training and development
  • Household project management
  • Maintenance of the property on a regular basis
  • Maintaining security and communication systems and record keeping
  • Regularly interacting with owners to maintain direct communication and compliance with their needs
  • Ensuring efficiency, harmony and high morale throughout the household
  • Organising social and family events
  • Caring for household’s guests and visitors
  • Serving of wine and other drinks as well as meals
  • Taking on duties of a valet if required
You will need:
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in household and property/project management and residential servic
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously but also able to take direction
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment / highly responsive
  • Knowledge of etiquette and protocol and respectful of family boundaries
  • Used to working for an international family
  • Experience of formal service of fine wines and food
  • Valeting skills
  • Good team player and manager of staff
  • Ability to anticipate others’ wishes and adapt accordingly
  • Experience in delivery of a discreet, confidential and unobtrusive service
  • Ability to travel with family
  • Used to working in Central London
Working Day/Hours: Either - Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, 09:00 – 19:00, with flexibility (dinner parties etc).  Ideally the candidate would live close to W8 so that he/she is able to work later into the evening if required.   Weekend work also possible if agreeable with the candidate
Salary: £75K gross per annum
